Prerequisites for the JMU Project Management Certificate

To ensure our graduates are qualified for employment after earning the project management certificate and prepared for the challenging education in this program, we require:

Paralegals in Washington DC

  • The equivalent of four years of full-time professional work experience OR a bachelor’s degree
  • Access to the internet with high-speed connection (course administered in an online environment)

Enrollment Deadline and Payment

This program has limited seating, so it is strongly advised to register as soon as possible. Otherwise, if paying by credit card or check, your registration is due no later than two weeks before the course start date.

If paying by credit card, click on the “Enroll Now Here” link underneath your preferred program date/format. From there, you will click the purple “Enroll Yourself” button to create an account. **Please note that creating an account and saving the program to your shopping cart will not save a spot for you in the course. You must complete the transaction and receive the automated receipt of payment email in order to be enrolled.**

If paying by check, please complete the registration form and postal-mail it along with your check to the address printed on the registration form.

Other Payment Options and Deadlines

**The registration deadline for payment options listed below is at least one month before the course start date.**

JMU Outreach & Engagement accepts employer billing. Please complete and submit the registration form with your company’s information where indicated. We will contact your employer for arrangements.

This program is approved for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) training assistance and the MyCAA scholarship program. For more information about WIOA benefits, contact your nearest state employment office. For MyCAA, please call Military OneSource at 1-800-342-9647. If you wish to register with either WIOA or MyCAA, please complete and submit the registration form first. Next, you must promptly start the paperwork process with WIOA or MyCAA.

*At this time, non-credit online programs are not eligible for the GI Bill.

*The FAFSA is for degree-seeking programs only. JMU’s Project Management certificate is a non-credit program and therefore not eligible for FAFSA-based aid.

You may also consider a private loan with your banking institution or local credit union. As an alternative, you may apply for a Sallie Mae Smart Option Student Loan or a Wells Fargo Collegiate Loan.

To qualify/apply for a Sallie Mae or Wells Fargo loan
:
1. The requested loan amount cannot exceed the course fee.
2. You must be registered in the course prior to JMU Outreach certifying the loan. Complete and submit the registration form first.
3. Apply online with Sallie Mae or Wells Fargo.  NOTE: Please use the following James Madison University Continuing Education account when applying: 003721-98.

Outreach & Engagement will be notified of the loan application and asked to verify and certify the course information. For questions about your loan, please refer to your loan processor. For general information about the loan process, please contact our office.

Graduation Requirements

• Attend all four on-campus classes OR all six live, online instructor-led sessions (depending on your program’s format)
• Complete ALL assignments

Withdrawal/Refund Policy

You may cancel your registration up to two weeks before the program start date and receive a full refund (minus a $25 administrative fee and any credit card processing fees.) After such date, no refunds will be given. Participants may transfer to a future program (within one year of your original program) based on availability, with no penalty. We will accept participant substitutions with at least two business days’ notice. Please email us at outreach@jmu.edu.
